The Old City Builders

Old City Builders isn’t defined by a logo or a tagline — it’s defined by the people behind the work. From the leadership to the crew, our team brings together the full suite of construction experience that few can match.

Our Story

We don't so much think of other construction companies as competition, because truthfully, they’re not playing the same game. While GC's subcontract, we are staffed up. And thats's what sets us apart — not just our process — but our people. The ones who show up early, obsess over the last 5%, and treat every house like it’s their own.

They’re the ones who make this company what it is.

They are the Old City Builders.

Meet The Team

Cameron Glaws

Founder & Principal, Old City Builders

Cameron Glaws is the founder of Old City Builders, a Charleston-based construction and development company built on craftsmanship, clarity, and getting the job done right. With a background that spans historic rehab, high-end residential builds, and real estate development, Cameron leads OCB with a rare mix of hands-on know-how and strategic vision.

He’s equally comfortable walking a job site in work boots or mapping out a project with clients and investors — though most days, you’ll probably catch him doing both. Whether it’s guiding a first-time builder or assembling a development deal, Cameron brings a no-nonsense, solution-oriented approach to every conversation.

From longtime tradesmen to seasoned developers, Cameron connects with people across the spectrum — and means it when he says every role on a project matters. He’s just as at home cutting it up with the crew as he is auditing project financials.

Cameron stays deeply involved in every aspect of the business, from preconstruction planning to final walkthroughs. His focus: High standards, zero fluff, and a process that delivers real value for clients, collaborators, and the neighborhoods OCB helps shape.

He also oversees a growing portfolio of Charleston real estate investments and consults on select redevelopment projects where the stakes are high and the details matter. At the end of the day, he’s a builder at heart — just one who happens to know his way around a pro forma, a punch list, and a well-worn edge sander.

Ryan Sanders

Director of Operations

Ryan Sanders is the steady hand at the helm of OCB’s day-to-day operations. Diligent, fair, and loyal to a fault, Ryan is as committed to the client’s vision as he is to the company’s mission. He’s the straight shooter every project needs — the one who makes sure nothing slips and no one is left guessing.

He oversees everything from scheduling and budgeting to team coordination, ensuring that each build stays on track and every trade knows where to be and when. Off the clock, Ryan enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his growing family. His college football days may be behind him, but he can still lay down a pancake block if the need arises.

Tim Ferland

Senior Shop Director

You’ve got to wake up pretty early to fool Tim Ferland. He’s a craftsman’s craftsman — the kind of guy who shrugs off 80-hour weeks if that’s what it takes to deliver on time and to spec. In OCB’s cabinet and millwork shop, Tim is the engine: designing, problem-solving, and building with a level of precision most people miss at first glance.

His brain is wired to solve technical puzzles in five dimensions, always thinking two steps ahead in wood, glue, and grain. If a detail matters, Tim’s already handled it — or figured out a better way to do it.

Corey Kirk

Senior Project Manager

Corey Kirk’s mind is built like the homes he manages — complex, strong, and engineered with precision. With decades of field experience and an unmatched knowledge of framing, Corey is the anchor of our job sites, turning plans into physical form with confidence and clarity.

He leads with presence, not pretense. You’ll find him wherever the work is happening — keeping the pace, upholding standards, and making sure every phase runs clean and tight. When he’s not on site, Corey’s probably out in the woods or on the water, or spending time with his family — the foundation that means the most to him.

Teddy Spear

Field Superintendent

Teddy Spear is a cornerstone of OCB’s field operations — the guy who ensures every site is supplied, prepped, and ready to run before the first tool hits the belt. He joined Old City Builders six years ago, after raising his hand on a job site field trip as a freshman at the College of Charleston. Since then, he’s carved out his own path, earning the trust of leadership, the respect of the crew, and the responsibility that comes with both.

Teddy brings sharp instincts and steady follow-through. He works closely with the Senior Project Manager and Director of Operations to keep jobs moving, and he anticipates what’s needed before it’s ever asked. Whether he’s coordinating deliveries, solving site hiccups, or jumping in to get hands dirty, Teddy is an indispensable part of the Old City Builders team.

When Ted's off the clock, you’ll usually find him out on the water with a fishing rod or behind the wheel of a boat.

Griffin Burts

Design & Quality Specialist

Griffin Burts is the quiet engine behind some of the smoothest processes at OCB. Analytical, detail-obsessed, and relentlessly curious, he thrives at the intersection of design and execution — refining workflows, managing vendor coordination, and keeping client selections on point.

With a background in historic preservation and a deep respect for craftsmanship, Griffin gets the OCB ethos down to the studs. He’s the one you want translating big-picture ideas into trackable steps — and then making sure they actually happen.

Jocelyn "Jael" Sadler

Office Manager & Bookkeeper

Jael Sadler is the heartbeat of Old City Builders. As our accountant, financial controller, HR department, and company-wide sanity check, she keeps the whole operation grounded and honest.

She’s the one who knows where every dollar is, what every person needs, and how to keep things moving without losing sight of the big picture. Around here, we call her the mama bear — and we mean it. Jael looks out for the crew, the clients, and the company all at once, with a sharp eye and an even sharper sense of when it’s time to say: “Okay, let’s get real.”

The Old City Builders Crew

When we talk about what sets Old City Builders apart, we’re talking about these guys — the ones on-site every day, tools in hand, making the vision real. Our in-house crew brings together over a hundred years of combined experience in framing, finish work, custom carpentry, painting, and trim. Their precision and pride in the details are what elevate our work from good to unforgettable.

They’re not looking for the spotlight — they’re looking to get the job done right. Quietly, expertly, and without shortcuts. Whether it’s a complex crown detail or a tricky layout no one else could figure out, these are the guys who make it happen.

They don’t just build homes.

They are the Old City Builders.
